Dr Jiménez-Solano obtained his PhD in 2017 under the supervision of Prof. Hernán Míguez at the Institute of Materials Science of Seville, where he pioneered the design and fabrication of photonic nanostructures to control light absorption and emission at the nanoscale. He continued his research career at the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research (Stuttgart) in the group of Prof. Bettina Lotsch, exploring functional nanomaterials and hybrid architectures for light management and sensing. In 2021, he joined the Department of Physics at the University of Córdoba as a Beatriz Galindo Fellow, where he leads research on optical nanomaterials and photonic structures for energy conversion, detection and communication technologies.
